Broden Mock
Born after the turn of the century, when the world was rapidly shifting, Broden Mock was able to combine the arts of journalism and narrative through media forensics.
Raised in the northwestern part of Colorado, near the Wyoming border, sparked a desire to create, leading him to explore various outlets such as filmmaking, score composition, writing, and other visual arts.
Broden Mock is a Hispanic-American filmmaker and composer whose work often revolves around a backdrop of grand historical real-world events, with the front focus on interpersonal stories and personal perspectives. Defined by hyper-realism and minimalism, he uses visual simplicity to draw attention to the raw authenticity of his subjects. Broden is experienced as a director, writer, and editor.
In addition to his work in filmmaking, Broden Mock’s musical compositions reflect his distinctive creative approach. His scores often mix Western gothic stereotypes with electronic flares and ambient synthesizers, creating a blend of minimal sound but a complex, layered creation process. By leveraging modern mixing technology, he produces a richer, fuller sound, using modulation effects and experimental reverb.
Broden Mock is interested in journalism, publications, filmmaking, score composition, post-1750 history, theology, foreign affairs, English literature, nuclear physics, CBRN studies, and the culture of the Mountain West states of the United States.
Broden Mock is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Denver.
